The Rock and Roll Bash Rocked!!(Casey Cares Foundation)

On September 29th, over 200 Casey Cares supporters crowded the ballroom at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite singers from their childhoods.  Concert goers caught more than a glimpse of their favorite musicians that evening as band members from a dozen or so bands played their hearts out for our critically ill children.  First-time event co-chairs Ellen and Mike DiMayo did an excellent job bringing the event to its new location in Baltimore.

Entertainers included Mark Rivera of Billy Joel, Jeff Carlisi of 38 Special, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, Christine Ohlman of Saturday Night Live Band, John Conte of David Bowie, Jeff Kazee of Bon Jovi, Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger, and Andy York of John Mellencamp.  They all joined emcee Tony Perkins of FOX 5 Morning Show to bring the crowd to their feet.  The event boasted a full premium bar, cocktail hour, magic by Turley, buffet dinner, a raffle, as well as live and silent auctions.

All told, the 5th Annual Rock N' Roll Bash raised over $90,000 towards programs for our critically ill children and their special families.  The event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors.  Platinum Record Sponsors were the American Breadcrumb Company, BJS Insurance and Financial Services, Belman Klein Associates, Brandon Home Furnishings, The Mike & Ellen DiMayo Family Foundation, 1st Team Staffing, Friedlander Benefit Services, Health Insurance Specialists, Inno-Pak, Gilbert & Marianne Kuta, and Kevin & Betsy Meyers.  Our Gold Record Sponsor was Federated Investors.  Silver Record Sponsors included Academy Mortgage, Acme Paper & Supply Company, Antwerpen Toyota, Craig Longenecker DDS, The Tom James Company, and Williams Asset Management.  Media Sponsors, The Baltimore Sun and 102.7 Jack-FM, did an excellent job promoting the event!

As usual, the most touching part of the evening was when Casey Cares child and cancer survivor, Katie Oberman, spoke about what the foundation has meant to her family.  Following a short informational video created by Northside Video about the Casey Cares programs, there was not a dry eye in the house.  This event could not have taken place without the tireless help of the Casey Cares staff, volunteers, and in-kind donors.  A special thanks to Mike Buscher for capturing fantastic photographs of the night’s festivities!
