Anniversary of Fire Update
Thursday, May 29, 2008(Casey Cares Foundation)
As many of you can imagine, this past year has been one filled with many emotions. Tomorrow will be the first anniversary of the fire that destroyed the headquarters of the Casey Cares Foundation. Since then, so many businesses, individuals and even Casey Cares families rallied toward a common goal of rebuilding this wonderful charity.
We started literally from the ground up since our building was leveled, our database was destroyed, our rolodexes were burned up, and notes from the past events were ash. Yet with dedication, fortitude and a common goal to survive (and thrive), we continued to provide uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families. Even in our toughest year, we didn’t disappoint one family.
We could meet all our families’ requests because of friends and supporters like you. Since the fire, we have sent close to 100 Birthday Blast surprises to our critically ill children, sent 11 deserving families on mini-vacations, and provided highly desired tickets to events, concerts and activities for over 300 Casey Cares children and their families. Your generosity contributed to over 1,800 smiles since the fire!
With our numbers growing, we continue to
need your help. The money received through
your involvement will help us continue to
provide Family
Festivities, Kami’s
Jammies, Birthday
Blasts and Celebration
Vacations.
On behalf of Casey
Cares Foundation children and their families, I
extend to you a heartfelt thank you for caring
about our children and for supporting the
programs and activities that we provide.
