A Special Day for Mother and Daughter

We were honored to provide Anna's family this Family Festivity before she passed away on August 25th, 2008

Twelve-year-old Anna, on treatment for liver cancer at Sinai Hospital, and her mother Liz were treated to a day of complete relaxation thanks to Casey Cares Foundation and several generous donors. Gavin Limo arrived at their house in the morning to surprise the soon-to-be teenager.  The first stop was You Salon, where spa owner Robin Gibbin made sure Anna and her Mom had first class treatment, providing pedicures and manicures for both. 

After the spa treatment, the two hopped back into the limo for a trip to the Olive Garden in Columbia for lunch. Terry Whalen, Olive Garden Manager, met them with an early birthday serenade, a fantastic lunch and a surprise tiramisu “birthday cake”.

Anna’s Mom Liz writes, “We had a great time - Thank you to Casey Cares, Robin and Rachel at You Salon, Gavin Limousines and Olive Garden!  It was so wonderful to be able to have just a mother-daughter day with Anna - a great treat and break from doctor visits, transfusions, blood draws and scans! Thank you so much for giving us memories that will last a lifetime!”

Thank you to all of the donors that made this special day possible for this deserving family.  We may not be able to cure the diseases that strike these families, but your help allows these families to rejuvenate their minds, bodies and sprits.
