Rolling and Bowling With Our Families

A big thank you goes out to Joe and Kirsten Milano for sponsoring our Bowling and Skating Party, one in a series of group parties we host for our families each year.  As the families entered the bowling alley, they were greeted by friendly Casey Cares volunteers and other Casey Cares kids being treated for Leukemia, Medulloblastoma, and Sickle Cell Disease.  The relief was evident on the children’s faces as they realized that today; they would not be the only sick kids in the room.  The parents were able to lean on each other that afternoon, knowing that they were in the company of apathetic care givers whose families were enduring the same treatment regimens for complicated diseases.

Each family received two games of bowling, pizza, drinks and skating.  As the afternoon drew to an end, the children were all smiles.  Packing up their cars to head home, the Moms and Dads knew that their children would sleep well tonight.  Thank you to everyone that made the day possible, including our special families!
