Ahoy Maties!
Saturday, May 24, 2008(Casey Cares Foundation)
On a beautiful morning, Casey Cares families
set sail on a swashbuckling pirate adventure
in the Baltimore
Harbor. Critically ill children were
transformed into pirates by the crew of
FEARLESS – dressing, talking, and
acting like pirates, down to the tattoos,
mustaches, eye patches and kerchiefs around our
heads. We fought attacking enemies with
water cannons, navigated treacherous waters and
successfully protected our valuable treasure
chest.
Remarkably, nobody
was forced to walk the plank… What a
wonderfully memorable morning it
was!
The Pirate Adventure is
one of the monthly group parties that Casey
Cares provides to help families cope with a
child’s new diagnosis. This Family
Festivity Program helps to bring comfort and
support to families, giving them the chance to
share treasured moments and provide support to
each other.
We thank Cara and
everyone at Urban Pirates for our
exciting pirate adventure. Their crew
went above and beyond – we couldn’t have
imagined a more fun-filled morning.
