Baltimore Orioles Pitch a Great Day for Casey Cares Families

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Ten Casey Cares Foundation families not only met some of the fantastic Orioles players, but also were coached by them in playing America’s Pastime.

Extra Innings, a state-of-the-art premier, indoor baseball facility, donated their space so that seriously ill children were able to strike out one of their “bad days” and had a great afternoon!  Past and present Orioles players Brian Matusz, Ryan Flaherty, Steve Johnson, Steve Tolleson and Al Bumbry played games with the families and signed autographs. Afterwards the families enjoyed pizza and played wiffle ball.

“Extra Innings is honored to be a supporter of Casey Cares Foundation,” said Steve Markey, owner of Extra Innings Baltimore North. “We were very excited about putting smiles on the faces of children, their families and significant others, at a time when smiles are hard to come by.”

Kudos to Steve Markey and Kyle for running this great event, Dominick’s pizza, Berger Cookies, and of course, The Baltimore Orioles!

This Caring Connections party is one of the programs of the Casey Cares Foundation, The Caring Connections Program encourages families to meet, share, and support each other while taking part in themed, group parties.
